Commercial 50kWp Solar PV Relocation and Reinstallation
Com Sol UK were commissioned to relocate the existing fifty kilowatt peak solar PV system previously installed at South Yorkshire Housing Association’s former head office on Wellington Street. With the organisation moving to new premises on Rockingham Street, the full array was carefully removed, transported, and reinstalled to suit the new building’s layout and roof structure.
The project was completed using a ballasted flat roof system, a preferred approach for commercial properties where roof penetration is not desirable. The low profile design provides stability without requiring excessive ballast, keeping structural load to a minimum.
As with all commercial flat roof projects, the installation was supported by a detailed ballast report. This ensures that the system meets local wind load requirements and remains secure across all seasons.
This relocation project allows South Yorkshire Housing Association to retain the value of its original investment while continuing to benefit from clean onsite generation, reduced electricity costs, and long term environmental gains at its new headquarters.
